Sound healing

What is Sound Healing Therapy?
Sound healing therapy is pretty much what it says on the tin: the practice of using various sounds to improve your physical health and emotional wellbeing.

A session can take multiple forms, from guided meditations to dance to sound baths. Using the many aspects of sound to focus on your physical or mental health.

When receiving a sound healing therapy session this would be carried out with you sitting or lying down.

Benefits of Sound Healing
Sound healing has a wide range of benefits ranging from mental, emotional and even physical ailments.

benefits

Sound healing can help you clear energetic blockages and thus facilitate healing on a physical and mental level. Some of the benefits of sound therapy include:

lower stress levels

fewer mood swings

lower blood pressure

lower cholesterol

improved sleep

"Sound healing synchronizes brain waves to achieve profound states of relaxation, helping to restore the normal vibratory frequencies of the cells in our bodies"

Sound Bath (Group Meditation)

I run these groups on an intuitive level, so every week brings something new, generally by the time everyone is settled In the room, I know from the energetics of our environment how the session will be led.
My motto for this type of therapy!...When it's comes to expectations...."Let go of all expectations and become present in the moment"

Working with sound can bring so much up for us wether that be on an emotional level or physical level and the unique thing about Sound therapy and immersing yourself in a meditation like this is, that you don't have to "Try" and relax your mind, the frequencies do it for you, allowing you to reach a deep state of relaxation within moments, so for those of us who claim "i can't relax, my mind won't shut off" this is the perfect type of class to attend.

One to one sound healing

These sessions allow for deep healing and nurturing of self, most people upon receiving a sound healing, report feelings of peace, and an inner stillness they can't quite articulate.

My sessions are Intuitively led from the moment you enter the space and after a short intro/chat around the reasons for attending, we begin by introducing sound in various ways using an array of instruments, including a Gong, ocean drum, wind chimes, tuning forks, shamanic drum and mainly sound bowls, which can be placed on or around your body (only if client is comfortable)
Dependant on clients healing needs we can include guided meditation, reiki and a card readings.

About Me

I'm Pamela wharton, I'm owner and Co founder of the wellness cottage, I am an accredited sound Healer, reiki master, and and Intuitively led Artist.

How did I get here, well my proffesional journey into the world of healing and self development began in my early days within the beauty industry (22yrs ago) I have always enjoyed connecting with people and what my job as a beauty therapist allowed me to do was fine tune the intuitive ability to understand the needs of my clients on an unspoken level.

However in 2011 when my daughter was born my perspective and focus on my own personal life experiences shifted, yes I still enjoyed my job and my artistic ability to create bespoke nail art was in full bloom, but the way In which I had originally viewed being a "beauty therapist" had completely changed, it wasn't just about the physical treatments it became more about the space holding, the meaningful conversations, the connections and interactions shared between myself and clients, this for me was where I felt most gratification and truley humbled that these beautiful souls felt safe and at times vulnerable enough to share these moments.

A few years of hoping and skipping my way through life as a mum and my new found perspectives, I finally took the leap into the world of holistics and vwala the cottage was born in August 2019. These last few years I have delved deeper into the inner workings of the human experience, our behaviours, belief systems and the way in which we choose to navigate through life. I would have previously described myself as being in a transitional state however I believe life is a never ending cycling of growth and learning to be at peace with the stages you are at in life is all part of the growing process.
